timmy Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 Pune: McDonalds suspends staff member for throwing out homeless child from restaurant CNN-IBN@ibnlive Pune: Taking action for throwing out a homeless child from its restaurant in Pune, McDonalds on Saturday suspended the staff member involved in the incident. The action comes after the Maharashtra government intervened in the matter. Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the government will gather the information and take steps against the people involved in the incident. Promising an enquiry, McDonalds in a statement said, "McDonalds India is investigating internally an issue that has been reported on an incident involving a street child. The concerned security personnel involved in the incident have been suspended pending completion of an enquiry." The action comes after the Maharashtra government intervened in the matter. #maharashtra #pune #mcdonalds #devendra fadnavis Describing the incident on her Facebook page, a woman Shaheena Attarwala had said that she along with some of her friends had gone to the fast food outlet when they met the child. Curiously looking at the Coke floats that she and her friends had bought, the child in sheer innocence asked if he could have some. Shaheena went inside the restaurant with the child and asked him whether he would want to stand in the line with her to which he agreed. The McDonalds staff, however, was pushed away. A worker from the restaurant took objection to the street kid being inside the outlet and said that "these kind of people are not allowed inside". Shaheena said, "I was accompanying the child in the restaurant. One employee came, grabbed the child by the collar and threw him out. An employee told me the restaurant doesn't allow 'such people' entry."

We went in and got ourselves some coke floats. On our way out, a poor kid approached us, asking for some. Since it is not very expensive, I decided to buy him a Fanta float. I asked the kid if he would like to come in with me and stand in line to purchase it himself. He agreed. So, I took him in and he stood in line. Of course, I accompanied him. Immediately, a McDonald's employee came, and pushed him and threw the kid out! I told him that I had brought him to buy him a Fanta float. Well, he was extremely rude and told me that 'these kind of people' are not allowed inside! Either way, I bought the float and gave it to the kid. Now, I'd like to know: Who are THESE KIND OF PEOPLE? So, poor children are not allowed? Even if I accompany them? Pay for them? Did I ask for free stuff? Worse, nobody around bothered to stop or even raise a word against the ridiculousness. I clicked this picture right outside their restaurant. I am also attaching the bill. If anyone can take action, please do! Answer, McDonald's!!! Go back to USA, or treat people here well! ❞ lol McD
