India Is Set To Become The Fastest-Growing Big Economy In The World

India is set to become the fastest-growing big economy in the world in the fourth year of Narendra Modi led BJP government, edging past China.

Indian economy is on its way to substantial progress. Last year, it took over Japan to become the third largest economy in the world; only lagging behind China and the US.

As per the latest report of the World Bank titled 'World Bank's Global Economic Prospects (GEP)' , the growth in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of India, which was 5.6% last year, will reach 7% in 2017. What this means in simpler terms, is that the Indian economy, which had just become the third largest in the world, will now also become a fastest growing economy in the world. This is progress on every scale.

An interesting thing about this result is that along the way, when the growth reaches 7%, India will have finally exceeded the same of China, which is expected to be 6.9% by then. This means that the Indian economy growth will finally level with the current Asian economy giant that is China. However, note that the current value of China's economy is about USD 9.2 trillion, while that of India's economy USD 1.87 trillion.

If you're thinking how come this growth rate will be achieved, the World Bank has given some suggestions regarding the same. Firstly, in the coming years, there will be a decrease in crude oil prices which will take some pressure off of the import expenses on the Indian economy. If this time is utilized judicially, then chances of growth are certain. 
Secondly, the report also emphasizes on India trying to boost Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), which accounts for 30% of the GDP in itself.

The Make In India campaign can also prove vital to growth. If the campaign is able to create quantifiable and favorable structural reforms to the current economic system, more companies and investors will be setting camp in India. This will ultimately boost the value of the economy.
