In an incredible photography series, Kacper Kowalski, an award-winning aerial photographer and pilot, documented the effects of human activity on the landscape in his native Poland.

In his new book “Side Effects,” the aerial photographer took to the skies to paint a portrait of the complex relationship between humans and nature.
