1250(1250 +1)/2 =781785

 

 

So what are u asking here is sum of 1 to 1250 which is 1+2+3+4+.....+1249+1250, is that correct?

 

If so it is 1250*1251/2= 781875

pls ans if you know.

 

let say u have a programe. there is one main object. you created instance for it to be called everytime this program is invoked.

 

this instance is created one time when one execution of this program is done for one item (each item calls one instance). when second item is created, it will call this instance two times. third item is created, it will call the instance three times and so forth, fifth etc.

 

now you have 1250 items total to be created. how many times this instance is created total?

I dont think it is factorial. 

Suppose 4th item is created, so the instance is called 4 times as mentioned in the problem statement.

So the total number of times the instance called till now is 4+3+2+1 = 10

Factorial of 4 is , 4! = 4*3*2*1 = 24.

 

So I think it is sum of N numbers = N(N+1)/2 as other DB members posted.

This is true only if he wants to find out the total times the instance is called from 1st item to 1250th item.

 

Correct me if I am wrong...
