psycopk Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 WEF Summit – Day 4 (Late copy) · Bill Gates assures support to AP in education, app-development and start-ups & health sector · Google chairman to support AP in digital literacy program · CM extends his trip by one day; to return on Sunday morning After attending a private dinner hosted by business magnate and philanthropist Bill Gates in Davos, Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu had a 40-minute conversation with him. Knowing that Chief Minister was at the WEF Summit, it is learnt that Bill Gates had tried meeting him on Thursday night. Realizing that it was too late, Mr Gates met him today (Friday). During his meeting with Mr. Gates, the Chief Minister gave a presentation on AP’s Innovation and Start-up Policy and also about the skill development programme to the co-founder of the technology giant. Mr. Gates assured the CM that he would support Andhra Pradesh in technology, app development and start-ups, education, health and immunizations programs. The Microsoft co-founder, who met CM after 10 years today at Davos, said he would explore the possibility of setting up Microsoft Development Centre on Chief Minister’s request. During their chat, the Chief Minister and Mr Gates recalled moments from their earlier meetings 10 years ago. In another 30-minute meeting with Google chairman Eric Schmidt, Chief Minister got an assurance from him that the company would support AP in its digital literacy program. Later, Chief Minister met Harvard Business School Dean Nitin Nohria. Mr Nohria said that he would highlight the business opportunities in AP to businessmen and experts visiting the prestigious school. With businessmen and industrialists from across the world vying for a chance to meet the Chief Minister at Davos, he has decided to extend his trip by another day. On Saturday, he will be meeting industrialists and discuss about investment opportunities in AP. Member of Parliament C.M. Ramesh, principal secretaries Ajay Jain and S.S. Rawat too will stay back with the Chief Minister and return on Sunday morning. However, as per schedule, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and other officials will return tomorrow (Saturday) night.

Catching up after 10 years, Mr. Gates congratulated CBN on his new role as the Chief Minister of new Andhra Pradesh and wished him best for the years to come. Further, Bill Gates invited CBN to a private dinner being hosted by him tonight at the World Economic Forum.

Sri NCBN spent his 4th day in Davos amidst a slew of meetings with several business leaders and country heads including Mr. Bill Gates, Mr. Satya Nadella, Ms. Sheryl Sandberg and Mr. Najib Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia among others.
