Story:
 
 
Kalyan (Kalyan Ram) is the new IPS officer in Hyderabad city. He is a corrupt officer who becomes a headache to entire police department. GK (Ashutosh Rana) is a MP and a mafia man. Then there is a death of a techie girl in Hitech city which changes the attitude of Kalyan. The rest of the story is all about reasons behind Kalyan becoming a corrupt cop and how he ended the menace of GK.
 
 
Performances: Kalyanram excelled in the role of ACP Kalyan Sinha. He was at his best in confrontation scenes and also in emotional scenes. Shruthi Sodi failed to impress in her debut. Sai Kumar was perfect in hero's father role. Ashuthosh Rana was apt in main villain role. Srinivas Reddy was hilarious,MS Narayana's comedy was also good. Posani was usual and entertained as much as he can. 
 
 
Technical Departments:
 
 
Story-Screenplay-Direction: Story is routine and tried n tested by many since years. But Debutante Director Anil Ravipudi was able to handle the movie in the right way. First half is good as comedy scenes worked  out very well. But the movie gets even better with pre interval episode and raises expectations towards second half. Second half maintains the tempo,the Game between Hero and Villain is good,and though the narration is in  serious mode, in between comedy was also added.However, Climax should have been more effective, Overall Anil Ravipudi was very much impressive in his debut.
 
 
Other Departments: Dialogues were good, Camera work was good. Editing was fine. Songs were average except for the last song , background score was effective. Action Episodes were alright.

Analysis: Pataas- A Well Made Mass/Commercial Entertainer, Kalyanram's performance and Anil Ravipudi's impressive direction work well for the movie.
