Barack Obama plants a Peepal tree sapling at Rajghat, New Delhi as a part of his visit to the memorial. Obama is the fourth American president to plant a tree at Rajghat. Peepal is also known as 'Gyaan Vriksha' (tree of wisdom).

We hope as the roots of this tree grow deeper, the international relations between the two countries strengthen, benefiting their citizens.
