Gajji_maraja Posted January 31, 2015 Author Report Posted January 31, 2015 CBN’s Government will undertake a massive CCTV camera installation drive to make Tirupati City safe. 184 CCTV cameras and new traffic signals, covering the entire city, under the Mission “Safe City – Tirupati” will be installed soon. A state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre has already been set up to keep a check on crimes, thefts, traffic violations, etc. Highlights: · Cameras have been installed at 35 major locations with a cost of Rs 2.5 Crore. An additional 600 cameras will be installed in the next phase · New traffic signals have been erected at 18 locations at a cost of Rs 1 Crore · City police created an “i-Follow” Awareness campaign to create awareness on following traffic rules and reporting cases of violations, thefts, crimes · In order to be available to people, the Tirupati Police launched a Facebook Page to take complaints and feedback from citizens · Tirupati Police will also be available on “Whatsapp” on 8099999977 where citizens can report on violations or crimes · Police will be open to accepting complaints if auto/taxi drivers overcharge customers
