Hyderabad: The administration of the Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district identified that out of 1,150 acre that would be available with the shifting of offices, buildings exist only on 255 acres, while the remaining 900 acre is vacant.

It may be noted that the TS government had targeted to raise Rs 6,000 crore through sale of lands this year (2013-14) and had even made a provision to this effect in the first TS budget in November last year.

However, it has not been able to make any progress on this front so far though 2013-14 is set to conclude in less than two months as there was no demand from buyers for lands identified on the borders of Ranga Reddy, Medak and Nalgonda districts.

 

 

The government’s focus has thus now shifted to properties in prime areas located in the heart of the city. However, there are no vacant government lands available in core areas of the city where there is huge demand. With this, the idea of shifting existing government offices located in vast premises in prime areas of the city came up and the government sprung into action immediately.

Shaikpet mandal, which covers posh Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills areas etc. could turn out to be a major money-spinner for the TS government as auctioning of 23 offices and lands here would fetch over Rs 185 crore. The government also hopes to raise hundreds of crores of rupees through sale of buildings and lands belonging to the collectorates of Hyderabad and RR in Nampally and Lakdi-kapul.

Cos the last govt was selling only in Hyderabad and spending in  Andhra.. if they have planned in a way to sell vacant govt lands all over AP and distributed the spend,nobdody may have opposed

Government has already declared the spending ..it is in official documents.

Govt got a revenue of Rs 5,000 crores from the sale of the Land around Hyderabad and they were spent on Jalayagnam projects !
