Chengala Venkata Rao had also produced Samarasimha Reddy, a blockbuster starring Balakrishna some years back. Now as an MLA of TDP, Rao had borrowed heavily complete Narasimhudu, which went over budget by Rs 5 Crore! In his hospital bed, he told Television reporters that the film has cost him Rs 20 Crore.
