Vinod Rai, former chief government auditor in his report submitted to the Supreme Court found that 266 kgs of gold missing from Padmanabhaswamy temple.Supreme Court last year directed Vinod Rai to conduct audit of books and accounts belonging to the temple. According to reliable sources only 627 kgs gold was returned to the temple authorities from the 893 kgs gold given out for various works.Supreme Court division bench consisting of Justices RM.Lodha and AK.Patnaik asked former CAG to conduct audit of the temple accounts for the last quarter. Supreme Court came with the following order based on the recommendations from amicus curiae Gopal Subramaniam, Travancore Royal Family who is incharge of the management is not available for reactions.
