Why Cricket Sucks

The short answer is:

 

Its played only by very few countries.

 

But allow me to expand on that.

 

Some of the more outlandish titles that popped up into my mind while thinking about this were..

 

"why Ricky Ponting sucks, and AB Develliers is on his way there"

 

"Ranji Trophy is more interesting than the ODI world cup"

Its obvious that it takes quite a bit of training and dedication to excel at any sport/game.

 

But I'm more interested in how long it takes to lose interest in a sport/game. And what would continue to drive a person who's picked a sport to excel in it.

 

Now, I always sucked at cricket, and was the last member to be picked. So I'll use my experience in playing chess.

I used to beat everybody in my neighbourhood and school at Chess. By the age of 14, I was bored and stopped playing.

 

But then I was introduced to the internet chess. I realized how mediocre I was only then. After 15 yrs of on and off at various sites, the best rating I could manage was 1975.

 

And that is the only reason I still continue to play. and continue to slide. my current rating is much much worse than my high.
