Sonia Gandhi Coming To Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada: It would be interesting to know that AP PCC president Raghuveera Reddy, who is struggling alone to keep his party intact and afloat in the state, is planning to conduct a public meeting with his party president Sonia Gandhi as its chief guest. It is learnt that the meeting may be held during April.

Raghuveera Reddy has boasted that people will teach a good lesson to the ruling TDP government in the Tirupati bye-elections by electing the Congress party candidate R Sreedevi. He also described the bye-elections as a referendum on the TDP nine months ruling. TDP won with over 1 lakh majority and the Congress lost its even elections deposits. So, it proves that people of the state are not ready to pardon the Congress party yet.

Raghuveera Reddy also launched one-crore-signature program demanding the Centre to implement all the promises made by the previous UPA government in the AP Reorganization Bill. There is very poor response to his program and in fact it is annoying the people of the state. 

Raghuveera Reddy may be bluffing himself that people are with his party and will join his program, whereas they are fuming upon him for playing such dramas after dividing the state against their wishes. 

In this prevailing situation, Sonia Gandhi is stepping into the state for the first time after bifurcation. So, people of the state, who are fuming upon her and her party for dividing the state ignoring their agitations, may react negatively to her visit. So, her visit to the state may hammer another nail on the Congress coffin, instead of pulling it out of it.
