mtkr Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 Quotes "If we want to do well in this World Cup this is an important game, and both teams need to win."Misbah-ul-Haq, the Pakistan captain "We can't let our defeats get us down. We lost the game against Ireland and it was a pretty tough loss, but if we get ourselves down it's hard to pick ourselves back up."Jason Holder , the West Indies captain

mtkr Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 Darren Sammy: The former West Indies skipper saved his teams blushes with a swashbuckling innings against Ireland though it had little impact on the final result. His team will be hoping the hard hitting batsman has a fine outing against Pakistan as its batting has had a rough time off late. Marlon Samuels: He is probably the MVP of this current West Indies squad and has to contribute with both bat and ball if West Indies are to overcome Pakistan. He has one of the few players that have come into the World Cup on the back of some fine displays. With the quality bowling in opposition he must bat out of his skin to help his mediocre side put up a fight. Misbah-Ul-Haq: One of the commentators during the Indo-Pak match stated how this 40 year old cricketer would easily fit into any of the international sides, an apt summation of what the Pakistan skipper is all about. Calmness personified, the middle order batsman has the task of guiding the Pakistan batting. Sohail Khan: He carried on the tradition of Pakistan cricket’s crazy romance for unknown faces at big events with a good showing against arch rivals Pakistan with a five wicket haul on world cup debut. Sohail’s death bowling was the stand out feature of his bowling virtually halting the Indian juggernaut on his own. West Indies would do well to stop him else we are looking at another demolition. Shahid Afridi: He came into the tournament riding high on confidence but his outing against India evaporated the sublime form. But nevertheless, Shahid Afridi who is likely to play his last World Cup here in ICC World Cup 2015 is known for rebound after a bad game. So West Indies will have to come all prepared for if this Pathan fires, not all the covers in this world can save them.
mtkr Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 Shahid Afridi vs. Darren Sammy This one is going to be the battle of all-rounders. Both Shahid Afridi and Darren Sammy occupy pivotal places in their teams and are known for their top class performances with both and bat. With both being all-rounders there is a possibility that these two will face-off each other twice. They both have similar set of roles to play when it comes to batting and will be interesting to see how they stop each other from using the long handle. Misbah-ul-Haq vs. Jason Holder One is experienced captain and the other has just taken over control of his side. Misbah-ul-Haq vs Jason Holder will not only be the battle of captains, but it will experience vs. young blood. Currently, Misbah is Pakistan’s best bet with the bat and Holder needs to put forward his best game to try and stop this run-machine from Pakistan. Ahmed Shehzad vs. Jerome Taylor It is high time Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad starts performing; he was off to a slow start against India and later threw it away after all the hard work. Batting against West Indies pacers won’t be easy, particularly facing Jerome Taylor early on. This clash could very much decide the course of the match
