This game takes place on the same pitch on which West Indies scored 310 against Pakistan on Saturday.

 

With longer boundaries square than straight, it also offers some pace, a little bit of seam and some spin, too. It is, in short, a fine pitch which rewards good cricket.

We all know how capable England captain Eoin Morgan is when it comes to turning matches head on, but he has been struggling with his form. An opposition like Scotland, where there is no high intensity pressure, may well be the ideal situation for Morgan to concentrate on his batting. Trust us, he just needs one knock to get back in the groove and game against Scotland may well be that.

24-year old left handed batsman Matt Machan’s half-century against Kiwis gave us insights how talented this Scotland batsman is. Machan scored 56 off 79 balls in middle order at a time when Tim Southee and Trent Boult were bowling fiercely in tandem and had scalped four wickets between them.

 

 

Iain Wardlaw: 

While defending a small total of 143 right-arm fast medium bowler gave Scotland the right kind of start by removing both the Kiwi openers Martin Guptill and Dangerous Brendon McCullum early on. With England batting struggling we expect Wardlaw to make some early in roads.
