Just for the the privilege of being able to access a 500million strong market? For the right money, even foreign companies/individuals can access it.

The way states were conceived of, doesn't hold true any more.

 

Too much intermixing has made the original purpose irrelevant.

 

states original purpose was to defend and govern a particular set of population.

 

what do states do now? Their job is restricted to managing economy by manipulating currency, trade tariffs, and keeping an army that they won't use.
