MENLO PARK, Calif. (KGO) --

Officials confirm that a 30-year-old woman has died after her vehicle was hit by Caltrain in Menlo Park.

According to Menlo Park Fire Protection District Chief Harold Schapelhouman, the woman was stuck at the Ravenswood crossing where the car was hit. She was removed from the vehicle and died after being transported to Stanford Hospital in critical condition.

Caltrain officials say all trains were stopped in both directions after the southbound Caltrain No. 360 hit the car at Ravenswood Avenue around 4:45 p.m. About 45 minutes later, a single track was opened through the area.

Authorities say that initial reports are that the gate crossings were functioning properly and were down at the time of the incident.

Samtrans is accepting Caltrain tickets between Menlo Park and Palo Alto, and BART is accepting Caltrain tickets at Millbrae.

About 400 people on board the train were not injured. Schapelhouman says the crash is also impacting traffic on either side of the Ravenswood railroad crossing.
