Telangana's official Vaastu advisor: Here are five things he will do

Telangana now has an official Vaastu advisor who takes charge on Monday with a salary of Rs 75,000 a month along with added benefits of a government car with a driver..

According to a Government Order released on February 12, Suddala Sudhakar Teja, a noted 'vaastu' consultant, has been appointed as an "advisor" to the Telangana government.

So what would his role in the functioning of the government be?

1) Teja would be consulted on "architectural issues" of government structures and prescribe "remedial measures." Teja is also mandated to advise the government on issuing clearances to projects and with his 'expertise,' decide the exact time of signing files

2) The advisor is also going to decide where an officer should sit during meetings beside deciding the seating arrangements during cabinet meetings.

3) Reports also suggest that he is even going to decide which direction the Telangana chief minister should face during conferences and key meetings.

4) Officially appointed to the ministry of roads and buildings (R&B), Teja also ensures that roads in the state conform to the principles of vaastu besides every garden, lakebeds, riverfront and government buildings.

5) Teja is also overseeing various ambitious plans that the state government has announced including construction and repair of roads to the length of 10,000 km which includes state highways, ring roads and skyways.

He will chiefly also monitor the skyscraper plan around Hussainsagar and the new secretariat coming up at the Erragadda Chest Hospital. "I will review the status of old projects and also look into the proposed ones before a final call is made," Teja was quoted by TOI as saying.
