N. Shiva Kumar made headlines 2 years ago, when he cracked the Indian Institute of Management's (IIM) entrance and secured a seat in the institute in Kolkata. Coming from a Scheduled tribe and selling newspapers to fund his education, this was a story that inspired many.
He has now repeated the feat with an international job offer in hand, being placed as the deputy country manager of Rocket Internet, a German company working in the space of e-commerce.

Not only does the young man have a clear focus on what he wants to achieve in life, he has also shown remarkable sense in working towards his goals. Additionally he was aided by a benefactor in Krishna Veda Vyasa, who beside funding Shiva Kumar through his latter school years also advised him on the fickle nature of the world that was only too ready to pull down people as much as it liked celebrating their success.
