jamesbond Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 Topic of the moment happens to be the need for laying some restrictions on apps like WhatsApp, WeChat, Snapchat and others. A look at recent viral sharing of videos in the name of Radhika Apte, Hansika Motwani and Lakshmi Menon underlines the need of such rules. Apparently all those videos and pictures shared on WhatsApp are fake, quite evident with a closer look, and at the same time denied by the actresses too. But the spreading of such videos surely outrage the modesty of that particular celebrity at a virtual level. Cyberlaws might bring the creators of such videos to justice, but what about those who are watching them and getting an egoistic pleasure that is not evident on their face?Watching these videos is like watching a rape and getting fun out of it, like enjoying those loud moans shown in an adult sex-tape. But the viewers are not able to understand the pain of the victim as they never feel it. Instead, these viewers are simply passing the video virally, asking others to enjoy the scene and rape the video clip with their eyes. A rapist is raping once, or a perpetuator is creating the fake video once, but by merely staring and deriving pleasure out of it is like raping the victim again and again, though on virtual level.Should our country needs to come up with stringent laws to curb such viewership too? Do our schools need to change their syllabus or not? Is this the right time (already delayed by years) to focus more on teaching morality, respecting women and privacy? Time for change. Not on all, but those who are cruelly morphing pictures and circulating them on the web should be punished. Seriously!!
