‘Simha’ Downfall Is Not Our Agenda - GREAT ANDHRA

Ever since the film ‘Simha’ has hit the screens, we have been facing several allegations quoting that we are having a prejudice against the film. There are many mails sent accusing us of being very negative towards the film and while some of them felt that it has to do with caste feeling, others mentioned that it is purely a political rivalry. Some have also gone to the extent of declaring that we have done this as a kickback was not given to us from the distributors of the film. So, after seeing a lot of such feedback, it is time we explain certain things for whosoever wishes to know.

Firstly, Great Andhra does not even know the distributor of the movie ‘Simha’. The team never talks to distributors of any film and a safe distance is always maintained with them. There is no rapport building exercise since we are aware that it leads to an obligation.  Our team believes in honest and pure reviews so no relations are kept as it has been our strong fundamental to stick to integrity while reporting news or reviews in the most transparent and frank manner.

It was anticipated when ‘Simha’ arrived with high expectations but then we had no intention to malign the film at any point. All the news and reviews were uploaded basing on the first hour reports that were received. Ideally speaking, it is not necessary that high ratings can make the film run well or low ratings make the film run weak. All this apart, the rating given to ‘Simha’ was not that degrading.

Great Andhra has always believed in living up to the expectations of its readers and not the filmmakers or their distributors. Speaking about the issue of our team taking money for better ratings, we would prefer to shoot ourselves than stoop down to such cheap levels. Great Andhra has never felt the need to resort to such mean things as it has always been supported by its readers who share a loyal and faithful relationship over the years. This for us is the most important thing than just few currency notes. We reiterate that our agenda is to improve the quality of films and give a pure picture to the reader and no pre meditated motives are involved while giving out the reviews or listing out our articles. We are concerned with the money of our readers but not that of film producers and distributors. That is the only reason we are being patronized by millions of readers across the globe.

In our odyssey of past 8 years we have seen many threats, physical attacks etc and we have also shown how we can handle them. We never boasted of any such incident in our portal for getting mileage or to project ourselves as the descendants of ‘powerful vamsham’. And once again, I’m saying again that, I, Venkat Arikatla, the Chief Editor of the portal is solely responsible for every news item or gossip in greatandhra.com and it has got nothing to do with anybody in our team. Our motto is ‘dare to write’ and we keep continuing…
