VinayVkOnline Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 "Investors are looking up to Sunrise Andhra Pradesh As part of my efforts to attract investments to our state, I visited Mumbai today to attend the CITI India Investor Conference 2015 and showcase the investment opportunities in our Sunrise State of Andhra Pradesh. I was extremely happy at the overwhelming response received from investors after I made my powerpoint presentation. I also had the opportunity to network with and interact with several heads of companies operating in the financial sector. On the ease of doing business, I told them that Andhra Pradesh was the first state to have a Single Window Act in 2002. Currently, we have a single-desk mechanism and the maximum time for all clearances is 21 days. We are also making a provision for deemed approvals and exemptions. I believe that these measures will provide hand-holding services to investors, and enable them to file online applications. My government is also mulling spot approvals system, exemptions for investors proposing investments in certain category of industries from having to seek approvals and assignment of inspection to private technical experts in the private sector. Andhra Pradesh also has sector-specific policies for customized impetus to the thrust sectors. The policies formulated are Solar & Wind Policy, IT Policy, Electronics Policy, Innovation and Start-up Policy, Industrial Water Policy and Tourism Policy. I had the opportunity to meet executives from Blackstone, Tata Capital, IDFC Mutual Funds, Brookfield Asset Management, Fidelity Worldwide Investment, GIC Real Estate and several others from various private equity, mutual funds and asset management companies. During my interaction with an executive from Suez Energy International, he evinced interest to invest Rs15,000 crore in different sectors. Another executive from Suzlon Group said the company is keen on introducing their hybrid technology in the solar and wind sectors in Andhra Pradesh. Aditya Birla Group and Sun Pharma executives have come forward to invest in Andhra Pradesh. I'm confident that several other investments will come to our state and we will see a lot of proposals coming to fruition. There is no looking back for us from here. I will strive hard for my people and my and keep all my promises to make it the best destination in the country by 2050." --- Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
