dude IAS...for that matter any Civil service...you got to try and see what kind of subject theoretical and practical experience they look into....yes there are IAS/IPS officers who are corrupt/criminal...but it is not from the day1..it is corrupt people around him/her which provokes them to do so....

 

it is possible to become a inspiration for people around you through your good or bad........Atal Ji for his good work has been inspiration and what about his tolerance towards the bad he has seen and kept silent? Similarly IAS/IPS officers do good things..as they are not powerful like others...most of the times they get exposed with bad things
