Telangana Policemen Donate A Day’S Salary To Watergrid Project

HYDERABAD, MARCH 9:  

 

In an interesting move exhibiting commitment, Policemen across grades in the State of Telangana have decided to contribute one day salary towards the State's ambitious `WaterGrid' programme.

 

A total of Rs. 2.26 crore was contributed from the staff starting from the rank of a constable to the Director General of Police. A cheque to that amount was presented to the Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao by the DGP today.

 

The Water Grid programme is one of the flagship project's of the Government. It aims to link water sources, provide both irrigation and drinking water to most parts of the 10 districts over the next few years.

Project stated in Jan itself, center evvadani valliki munde telusu kani world bank and Japan has agreed to fund/loan substantial amount required for the project.
