I will take over TDP, declares Balaiah

Tollywood superstar Yuvarathna Nandamuri Balakrishna has created a sensation of sorts by declaring that he would take over the reins of the Telugu Desam Party one day or the other.

“There is no question of going back. If the situation demands, I will not hesitate to take over the party leadership. I have not taken any decision on this yet, but I can’t say now what I am going to do in the coming days,” Balaiah said in an interview to Sakshi television channel.

Balaiah said there has been a strong demand from party leaders and cadres and also his fans for a long time that he would take over the party leadership. “During my meeting with my mother Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi, too, she expressed the same opinion. If I get such an opportunity, I will not turn it down. I will become the TDP president and strive to revive the glory of the party,” he said.

Balakrishna’s statement will definitely change the political scenario in the state and stir a hornet’s nest in the TDP. Right now, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is slowly rebuilding the party brick by brick and definitely, he will not keep lying low if Balaiah wants to take over. He knows how to silence his brother-in-law. One has to wait and see whether it will lead to any unrest in the NTR family!
