Farmer-Friendly Cbn Government Allots Rs. 4,300 Crores For Runamafi

Continuous drought and lack of support from the previous regime compelled many farmers to quit their occupation due to difficulties in meeting their financial obligations. Loan redemption was a promise that CBN made to help farmers survive these difficult times. In spite of pegging back due to post-bifurcation financial crisis, CBN has gone ahead with loan redemption. For this purpose, CBN allotted Rs. 4,300 Crores in the 2015-16 budget in addition to Rs. 5,000 Crores allocated in the last budget. Out of the 32 farmers’ families in the State, more than 23 lakh farmers’ families benefited with the loan redemption. Under Phase II, 8 lakh farmers will be benefited. 

This is for the first time in the Country that such a massive loan redemption exercise has been undertaken to secure the farmers’ present and brighten up their future.
