chingchongchu Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 why can't power producers import gas and produce power? because the cost is not sustainable. why its not sustainable? because govt provides power at such low and unrealistic rates that no one will buy from them. but still, if t&d is privatized, they can sell power at higher prices to whoever is interested. Also BHEL lanti firms second to none, for example power from Hinuja costs beyond Rs7 /watt where as govt owned generates at Rs 3/watt.
