k2s Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 Forgery, favoritism and corruption have enabled Telugus and Tamils (the South Indians referred to in the book) to dominate and ruin the U.S. IT jobs market, according to a new e-book published on Amazon The e-book is written against the backdrop of the U.S. proposal to grant Employment Authorization Documents to H4 Visa holders (i.e. spouses of H1B Visa holders) to let them work anywhere in any job. If the broken U.S. IT job market has to be fixed, the monopoly of Telugus and Tamils over these jobs must be ended, argues the author (supposedly an Indian) writing under the nom de guerre Trueblue The title of the e-book is: The Rise of South Indians: Invisible Dimension in Decline of Jobs for Americans in US Economy. It costs $3.80 on Amazon Manolla meedha pusthakam aavishkarinchadam jarigina shuba dinamuna...Let celebrations begin...

You get this piece of junk. H1B visas were created for specialty jobs that need technical expertise and there is a lack of home-grown talent to fill that demand. Tamil and Telugu IT undergrad colleges focus more on the technical growth of the individual (and If I may add - very less on their communication skills). From his own lack of understanding of the English Grammar (even on paper), I would probably guess he is a North Indian - a derogatory reference to a racist person from comes from any of the numerous northern states of India who still have a long standing grouse against the 4 south-Indian states - Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka. This hate comes from the fact that each of these states have their own culture and language which is not aligned with their own generic one. As for the real reason why the % of H1B applicants are predominantly south-Indian is purely down to technical qualifications, the sheer number of students who graduate with engineering disciplines (Computer Science and Information Technology) & *surprise surprise* mastery of the English language. Allow me to supplant each of my assertions. Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Engineering_colleges_in_India_by_state_or_territory Some quick math will reveal that 431/931 (~46%) of India's engineering colleges are setup in just these 4 (out of 28 states in the list) south-Indian states. This disparity shows that south-Indian states focus on engineering disciplines (more often at the expense of other disciplines); and hence you would see a high proportion of H1B recipients are from these states. ARYA Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 What happens when 'Horrible grammar' and 'a self-loathing attitude' combine ? You get this piece of junk. This is uniform across all the northern/central states like UP, Haryana, Bihar, MP, Delhi etc. However, this wave didn't extend to the southern Indian region. In face some states have resisted the use of the local northern language of 'Hindi' and promoted their own. So these states have adopted English as their de-facto communication medium with business. Their own mother tongue (Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam) would be used for daily communication and a small % of population also can communicate via Hindi. In fact, there were political riots in TN over the past 50 years over this issue.Reference - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Hindi_agitations_of_Tamil_NaduThe ignorance of North-Indian states in learning English + the preference of English over Hindi by South-Indian states lead to a large gap in English speaking population between the two hemispheres of India. And that is another key reason why H1B employers prefer to fill their positions with south-Indians who can converse English (not to the level of a native speaker) to a reasonable extent than someone who uses their own local language (Hindi) for every sentence they utter in 'broken' English. What this author cribs about is his personal diatribe against other cultures. Nothing can be further from reality.Note - I seriously am planning to petition Amazon to provide the ability to rate '0 Stars' for certain products/books. Will use this junk as reference.
