Telangana government is keen on imposing an iron fist on the Porn sites which have a very bad impact on the growing generation and are said to be one of the influencing factors in crime against women. The state CID entrusted with the task of identifying the porn websites had identified a list of 1,500 porn websites and 5000 Facebook pages.

The state government will be forwarding this list to the center citing provisions in the IT Act for blocking them. The CID is seeking the help of Facebook to block 5000 pages. The government is also getting the state police trained by software giants like Microsoft, Oracle and Wipro in online security systems and also experts in hacking to deal with this menace.

To block a particular website, the Centre has to direct the department of telecommunication (DoT) to do so, which in turn orders the Internet Service Providers (ISP) to block the same. Perhaps the Porn watchers of Telangana may have to cross the border in future to satisfy their fantasies.
