Yes, you can use.But

• Your credit card may charge you around 2.5% Foreign Transaction fee/FX conversion fee
• The FX conversion may be very high ex:if USD to INR rate is Rs 62 per dollar..you credit card may consider it Rs 58 per dollar
• Most shops/merchants in India my charge around 3% extra if you pay by credit card (as they have to account the money and pay taxes)
• Some times credit card may be blocked  when you attempt to use the card in Foreign countries (automatically flagged and blocked by bank's software for suspicious activity)
• [Call and inform bank about your India travel plans before using in India,they will open the card for use in India and will not be flagged by their systems]

USE discover card no foreign fee .. Chase vadu baga estadu :( like 2.5% from Chase + 2.5% in Indian stores using the cards

I don't think there many POS in India that accepts Discover cards..only Citibank terminals accepts them
