H-1B Visa 2016 Applications are officially being accepted from today by the USCIS. The applications are for the Fiscal Year 2016, which starts from October 1^st 2015 and ends September 30^th 2016.

Predictions:

According to some reliable sources, the volume of petitions filed through the Immigration firms has been increased from last year. So, We are predicting that there would be around 180,000-210,000 H-1B petitions this year.

According to the predictions by the USCIS, huge number of applications is expected to arrive with in the first 5 days from today and it is definite that there would be a lottery this fiscal year, just like how the lottery was held for the Fiscal Year 2015. For those who plan to file for H-1B during this fiscal year, it is time to file them as soon as possible within the first 5 days of April 2015.Lottery Process:

A computer-generated process will randomly select the number of petitions needed to meet the caps of 65,000 visas for the general category and 20,000 under the advanced degree exemption. USCIS will reject and return filing fees for all cap-subject petitions that are not selected, unless found to be a duplicate filing.
