N.sitaraman Will Inagurate Spice Park @ Guntur

GUNTUR:Elaborate arrangements are being made for the inaugural of the Spice Park at Upparapallem village of Edlapadu mandal on Monday. Union minister of state for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate the prestigious project in the presence of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

In-charge collector Ch Sridhar reviewed the arrangements being made for the programme here Friday. Speaking to newsmen, he said the project will come up in about 120 acres of land and will act as one stop shop for the spices, especially chilly, extensively grown in Guntur district.

He said all necessary facilities for processing, value addition and marketing of spice will be done at the park. Earlier, he inspected the helipad and venue of the public meeting, which is expected to be attended by around 20,000 farmers and their family members. In view of summer, necessary drinking water facilities and buttermilk packets are being readied.

He directed the officials of agriculture and allied departments along with Transco to deploy two or three staff members of the department concerned at their respective stalls and wanted the stalls to be ready by Sunday evening. Officials were directed to explain in detail the advantages of the Spice Park.
