lazybugger Posted April 5, 2015 Author Report Posted April 5, 2015 How can they prevent AP from growing? I haven't read much news for past few months, except skimming past the headlines. But it's obvious that TG, like any other ambitious state, has plans to do everything. from biotech to aerotech. And those industries will come to TG. As they will to AP. KCR can move heaven and earth to ease their setting up of factories in TG. But that won't help TG much, unless they create a self sustaining industrial cluster. like electronics manufacturing in UP, Haryana.. Textile and Auto manufacturing in TN. If KCR wants to do it - he needs to attract entrepreneurs from AP to invest more and more in TG, which he may be able to do. If he can do this, this will hurt AP. On the other hand, creating self sustaining economy in port areas is relatively simpler. AP already has it traditional strengths, and can attract a whole lot of industries by simply providing the industries, a similar deal to TG. I think AP should concentrate on food processing, and electronics. and move from there. If TG decides to compete with AP, then AP can't win without Centre's support.

lazybugger Posted April 5, 2015 Author Report Posted April 5, 2015 I mean, one foreign aerospace component supplier, one biotech research firm, one automobile parts supplier setting up their plant in TG doesn't amount to much. ideally there should be bunch of consumer goods companies, with smaller indian entrepreneurs supplying components (preferably manufactured in the same area) to these companies.
