lazybugger Posted April 5, 2015 Report Posted April 5, 2015 raavanan choosi dobba. again the same thing. brilliant technically, but let down by poor writing. Maniratnam should really consider divorcing his loud mouth wife, who is the film co-writer. Maniratnam is saved here, because he creates all those conscious links to Ramayana, that covers up for the atrocious writing in some parts. I really think maniratnam should pick up some tamil classics to make into movies or TV series. he does really well, when the material is strong. Yeah, I loved the film. okay mama, maniratnam Ok Kanmani ikkada release aithe maatram guarantee ga veltha. poyi poyi nithya menon ni choodaala ani chinna badha :( I hope maniratnam quits movies, and gets into TV productions.
Osama Bin Gandhi Posted April 5, 2015 Report Posted April 5, 2015 Divorcing his wife as writer aa or in life aa? English rayochu kada ante edi padithe Ade raaseste itle untadi
lazybugger Posted April 5, 2015 Author Report Posted April 5, 2015 This film is such a huge improvement over the joke called Guru.
lazybugger Posted April 5, 2015 Author Report Posted April 5, 2015 Divorcing his wife as writer aa or in life aa? English rayochu kada ante edi padithe Ade raaseste itle untadi artham kaale :(
lazybugger Posted April 5, 2015 Author Report Posted April 5, 2015 Maniratnam should really get a better dialogue writer in Tamil. preferably from outside the brahmin community. He should stop taking recommendations from his neighbours. lol. Truly an idiotic bunch of assistants he seems to have.

Krish Posted April 5, 2015 Report Posted April 5, 2015 narsi...nee fav tamil movies oka 10 cheppu....
lazybugger Posted April 5, 2015 Author Report Posted April 5, 2015 I don't think there are 10 movies that I absolutely love in Tamil. there are several I like. aval appadithan (B&W) - a feminist movie that'll have Burberry squirm in his seat. :) Aaranya kandam - urban thriller. relatively recent. Iruvar- political thriller Devar magan - rural socio political thriller Antha Naal (B&W) - whodunnit thriller based in 1940s. subramaniapuram - small town madness. Guna - don't know how to classify this. Katradhu tamizh - contemporary statement on chennai, although deeply flawed. aayirathil oruvan. - some kind of socio fantasy.
lazybugger Posted April 5, 2015 Author Report Posted April 5, 2015 the quality of movies is directly proportional to the quality of criticism in the media. I predict in another 5yrs, tamil movies will be utter trash. If they already are not. :)
