Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and PepsiCo chairperson and chief executive officer Indra Nooyi jointly inaugurated the company’s Rs. 1,200-crore Greenfield production unit at Sri City in Chittoor district on Friday.

The plant, spread over 86 acres, is not only the largest manufacturing facility of the beverages major in the country, but also the first such facility established in 14 years. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Nooyi said the facility would be made a hub for sourcing mango pulp for the benefit of 32,000 farmers.

“For more than 25 years, PepsiCo has been investing in India. As we move forward into our next 25 years, the commitment is stronger than ever,” she said, indicating that Andhra Pradesh was one of the richest consumer belts in the country.

“The plant has one production line now, which will be increased to nine in the next five years,” Ms. Nooyi said and added that 23 per cent of employees at the new plant were women, which was double the company’s average.

“Besides, seven out of nine in the management team are women,” she added.

PepsiCo was brought to Sri city by Kiran Kumar reddy , CBN is claiming it as his success - YSRCP followers

Let me clarify this

PepsiCo has many such bottling plants in India. The plant just opened in Sri City is just one of them. No big deal.

It has only one production line

The CEO of PepsiCo will not come to Open a single production line bottling plant, there are thousands of such plants for PepsiCo all over the world.

Indira Nooyi is in India to seal the association with AP which developed during Davos meeting with CBN.

Another 5 lines are being added to make it the biggest PepsiCo investment in a single location in India.

The main thrust is in the area of food processing , PepsiCo aims to procure mango produce from 32000 farmers in that area.

This will provide steady income , assured price for Mango farmers of that area.

CBN used the opportunity and converted a small plant of PepsiCo into a mega venture.

He also understands that CEOs of such big corporations can influence investments by giving their approval. He didn't restrict her visit to opening of bottling plant , he took her to Tirumala and personally took care of darshan and made her feel important.

The results were instantaneous , she addressed IIM Kolkata convocation where she said AP is "fantastic and supportive in giving all approvals."

When was the last Time a global CEO praised Andhra.

Even after such a long explanation a lot of you will never be convinced. Because you are already filled with prejudice.
