athletics Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Drainage nallalanu direct moosi ki divert chesthara? Total cost of this project 10000 crores ?? the canals are pre-existing, they just need to route the KP inlet to the Hussain sagar outlet (Osmania Nala) without going in Hussain Sagar estimated between Rs 100-300 crores depending on the final plan. There is another plan to setup purification process in Musi which is totally a different project and they are asking center to support it. 10K crores to re-enginner and upgrade the whole sewegae system of the city.

athletics Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Here is a wonderful comment left by a old timer on some news board few months ago I am no Engineer! As a child I learnt my swimming in thus lake swallowing ample water. Later I dived a hundred times from the tank bund into the lake, swam to the rock of Gibraltar, chatted with friends sitting there. Many times ran around the lake in monsoon on and sides of the railway line from L.B.STADIUM when stadium gates were locked due to rain. The lake was pristine and never even experienced an itch, leave alone any sickness.spent a thousand evenings with my then girlfriend, later turned wife on steel and wooden benches. There was no stink.only rainwater drains emptied into the lake. Then some employees of IDPL learned the simple tricks of trade of making chemicals and medicines, resigned there and became small and big entrepreneurs, laying the foundations to the pharmaceutical industry of India! Neither the industrial estates set up by government nor the entrepreneurs thought of disposal of effluents.the local panchaths and later the peripheral municipalities never thought of a sewage system.they simple connected everything to the local streams and nalahs. Water only knows the slopes. So water, from sewage and industrial effluent discharge began flowing into the lake. When concerns rose, beaurocracy came up with half hearted measures and politicians never understood anything like this. Few of both varieties ever travelled abroad. If they did they nnecer bothered to ask or see how the developed countries were handling the problem. They never thought of the simple way of asking someonefrom there who did a job of taking care of such a problem. So we never learned and never copied. Then india began developing. Prosperity came, tax realisations multiplied, tax compliance increased , world bank came in and Japan aid came in. and the ignorant engineers have been showing dreams to us to clean the lake with 200 crores of loans! Who would steal how much is known to god only. There is no way other than diverting the sewage. Only storm water drains must be allowed into the lake. Every leakage into storm water nalahs must be plugged. A comprehensive sewage and effluent management system must be put in place or the polluting industries moved out. Sewage and effluent release into storm water drains shall be a designated criminal offence with heavy penalties. Local population must be enlisted into vigilance. And empty the hussain sagar! Cleanup everything. Dig up a few meters and touch clean earth. Let the lake reflood itself. Let a life and new age culture be built around the lake like Geneva. I do not see any alternative. If there is, I will be very happy to swim again to the recently arrived BUDHA now standing majestically on the rock of Gibraltar! IF KCR DOES THIS, GOD WILL RESERVE HIM A PLACE IN HEAVEN, IRRESPECTIVE OF WHAT ELSE HE MIGHT DO!
