Most of the state require insurance with car. so when you move the insurance to different state, insurance company will inform it to old state DMV as termination in that state. most of the time, system dont work as designed, so we dont get any issues. but some times they do work, then we will be in trouble. normally there is like 30days grace period to change registration after updating insurance. and more over if you are in any accidents, all these will make a big mess and they may deny claim
