Niloofar Rahmani, the first female pilot in the Afgani military since the fall of Taliban has been honoured with the U.S Secretary of State's International Women of Courage Award.

The 23-year-old flew her first solo flight in a Cessna 182 after she graduated as a Second Lieutenant in July 2012.

The lady, defied death threats from the terror group and even members of her own extended family to become a pilot. 

 

As a child, she always dreamed of becoming a pilot and learned English language for year to be able to attend flight school. 

 

The act of bravery she did was when she flew the injured and wounded shoulders to hospital and traditionally women are banned for transporting dead or wounded soldiers.
