mastercheif Posted April 17, 2015 Report Posted April 17, 2015 I'm saying, already ilaanti arrangement is there with facebook and other social sites on mobile network. especially India lo. so sudden ga ippudenti, Airtel Zero meedha antha negative publicity? its natural progression, no? e weekend time unte research chesi cheptha natural progressonoo kaado....
KeyserSoze Posted April 17, 2015 Report Posted April 17, 2015 scientific terminology naa? enduku bp techukuntaav. sare hyper data kaaka pothe big data. edho oka data. data is controlled by the companies that generate it. and they'll make deals to sell it or use it anyway they see fit. Why shouldn't the ISPs be allowed to control their bandwidth? main matter ni vadilesi, pichi puvvu laa terminology meedha argue cheyyaku. ippudu ade chestuunaru gaa isps..ie selling data..its just that people asking for uniform price and speed accross all websites.

lazybugger Posted April 17, 2015 Report Posted April 17, 2015 ippudu ade chestuunaru gaa isps..ie selling data..its just that people asking for uniform price and speed accross all websites. obviously the data you refer to, and data I referred to were different, which makes your silly outburst earlier even more silly. Don't you think there's a problem with that argument? your electricity analogy is way off, given how prices fluctuate on peak demand. In fact your electricity analogy makes the case against net neutrality. In the same way, with more bandwidth guzzling websites, and more people connected to the web now, how can they ensure uniform speed for everyone at the same time? Obviously the guy using Netflix, youtube, should fork out more. The issue is not just about how much data one used at the end of the billing cycle. The issue is how much bandwidth one uses at any given time. and how often does one use it. such billing is already used for dedicated lines. Also this will probably lead to formalization of voip, and other such services that the ISPs have always been uncomfortable with. The ISPs do have a point. Although giving them a free rein will have other problems. I simply said that your description of the issue is very simplistic. and you had to go off on a tangent about me. what an insecure little prick you are. net neutrality is a silly meme, made even worse by stupid analogies, like the one you wrote. May be, we should form a convention and demand Google and facebook to give up their data for anyone to access. These companies have rode on net neutrality for years now, and want to keep the status quo. I don't see any particular benefit for the end consumer from net neutrality.
lazybugger Posted April 17, 2015 Report Posted April 17, 2015 actually this is misrepresentation of what plans will look like. Last I checked, it was twitter+facebook unlimited free + some data for other sites.
lazybugger Posted April 17, 2015 Report Posted April 17, 2015 Allowing ISPs freedom to control their bandwidth will give rise to more innovations. Not less. The only thing a govt has to do is to make sure that ISPs don't have monopoly.

These companies have rode on net neutrality for years now, and want to keep the status quo. I don't see any particular benefit for the end consumer from net neutrality. y my electricity analogy is way off? will you care to explain....prices fluctuating at peak demand?/??? which country is this?certainly not India i think you have no idea how the billing works....if an isp promises me unlimited internet at certain speed that doesnt mean i get unlimited data throught the month at promised speed...there will be an FUP limit set, after crossing that limit my speed slows down. so if a user A watches netflix frequently ,he will reach his FUP limit within couple of days and then his speed slows down. whereas if a user B just uses internet for browing news(text) he can use the promised speed throught the month.so the bandwidth averageout. if most users consume heavy streming websitess simultaneously then ISPs should be able to provide the promised speed till they reach the limit. my point is, ISPs set the FUP limit considering the scenario that they will be able to provide sufficient bandwidth for all their users even at peak hours. This is how internet works now(at least in India). silly, stupid analogies ithey kadu nenu cheppinavi if you know how internet really works. and giving free access to particular apps kills competiton and certainly will discourage more indie developers.
