If I look back i regret losing on 200-250k on 401k, stock benefits etc in 8 years of my consulting, I only realized after taking fulltime how much of a stupid decision it was. More over you loose 25 vacation days and that I can accumulate for 120 days and get paid for those too apart from severence when fired. Thirdly you get promoted where as in contracting you will be a developer/tester even after 20 years. Health insurance is another thing if you have a growing family.

if you are well n good with financial status and both husband and wife working .. Fulltime best. 

 

 

Many criteria's need to think.

 

Single --Anytime Contracting best.

 

Married Couple:

both FT for long term settlement IMHO best option

one Contracting(remote_job) and One FT---- to earn more money ... considerable one

 

both contracting jobs------ no stability __ but good at financial status

There is more money in fulltime, unless you get more than $120/hr billing
