This crocodile named Babiya is 'found' in Ananthapura temple in Kasargode, kerala, India.
There is a legend about this crocodile. He is considered to be the guardian of this lake temple. When that crocodile passes away or disappears, another one appears mysteriously and takes guard. It's said the crocodile has been living there for the past 150 years as only one crocodile is ever seen at a time. This is a human friendly, vegetarian crocodile that doesn't kill even the fish in the lake. The priests, devotees feed the prasadam of rice and jaggery to Babia after the Ucha Pooja / Noon Pooja. The worshipers call the crocodile by its name near the cave , Babia comes out there at that time, consumes all the prasadam offered and goes back to the cave.
Legends are legends and hope they're true but this is surely one unique crocodile with a vegetarian diet made from human and heavenly love. You can visit Babia at the Ananthapura Temple in the Kasaragod district Kerala It's perhaps the original abode of Anandapadmanabha, the deity of Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple, Thiruvananthapuram.
There is Lord Krishna temple as well towards south-west of main temple.
