athletics Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Minister for Information Technology, K. T. Rama Rao is scheduled to meet Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on May 18 as part of his two-week trip to USA starting May 5 to attract investments to Telangana. Mr Rao will also meet Google officials on May 11 urging them to set up their permanent campus in Hyderabad. A meeting with Cisco Systems CEO, John Chambers is scheduled on May 15. Mr Rao will attend a series of business and trade meetings with industrialists and investors for two weeks. Mr Rao, who will be accompanied by IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan, is expected to sign agreements envisaging big ticket investments into the new state during his tour. “Yes, I would not like to disclose them right now. Yes, they are expected,” Mr Rao told reporters here as he prepared to leave for USA on Tuesday. Referring to internet giant Google setting up its permanent campus in Hyderabad, Mr Rao said, “The Company expressed its willingness to set up its permanent campus in Hyderabad in Dec. last year and assured to sign a MoU with the state government at the earliest. I will be meeting Google officials in the US to discuss this issue. Definitely, you will hear something on this.” Google currently operates from the rented premises in the city. Mr Rao will meet the Indian Ambassador in US on May 6 in Washington DC in a luncheon meeting. He will leave for New York the same day and meet investors including D. E. Shaw, founder of D. E. Shaw group, and address NRIs later. He will visit Pittsburgh on May 8, Dallas on May 9 and San Francisco on May 10. He will address “Make in India” event being held at Palo Alto and will visit Stanford University on May 13 and interact with students and faculty members.
