lazybugger Posted May 5, 2015 Author Report Posted May 5, 2015 Yeah. its ridiculous. Pottipotta Subbarao, what do you say? I'm not a rao ba. I followed the tamil tradition of having my father's name as my last name. thus doing away with having to advertise my caste.
srikanthraparla Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 I'm not a rao ba. I followed the tamil tradition of having my father's name as my last name. thus doing away with having to advertise my caste. yes ba me too i have my forefathers last name in my name
lazybugger Posted May 5, 2015 Author Report Posted May 5, 2015 playing a tournament in a particular place is not a human right. living is.
billababu Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 I'm not a rao ba. I followed the tamil tradition of having my father's name as my last name. thus doing away with having to advertise my caste. alage rao garu (rao doesn't necessarily represent a caste)
lazybugger Posted May 5, 2015 Author Report Posted May 5, 2015 yes ba me too i have my forefathers last name in my name oh. I thought everybody in AP had that. unlike in TN where they use their father's name.
lazybugger Posted May 5, 2015 Author Report Posted May 5, 2015 if you say political culture is bad in TN. I'd agree. but not as bad as in AP, where power oscillated between two parties, until KCR broke the monotony.
tom bhayya Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 first of all, its a law and order issue. pure and simple. that's the biggest reason. the same reason why Viswaroopam was postponed. some TN parties (not the major ones) don't need extra motivation to get on roads and break buses. Srilankans played in IPL kadha, in chennai. Its not such a big problem really as long as the security is paid for. and the respective parties are paid for. and also, even if they weren't allowed purely out of majority hatred for them in TN (which is not the case at all), it will still not count as a human right violation. I think I objected you to equating this with killing people, which is obviously a human right violation (especially if those killed aren't criminals)ipl also they are not allowed to play :(
lazybugger Posted May 5, 2015 Author Report Posted May 5, 2015 ipl also they are not allowed to play :( aah. lol. I didn't know that. but expected. and still it doesn't count as human rights violation. It will count as cost of doing business in a particular region.
lazybugger Posted May 5, 2015 Author Report Posted May 5, 2015 now you can say that the cost of cutting sandalwood in AP forests is being shot by AP police, and I have to agree (after extensive deliberations with my tamil friends most of whom supported the AP police actions). but at that time, it did seem to me as a very forced connection. btw, its still not clearly established that those who were shot were actually smugglers. if you read some neutral reports.

I don't have a single andhra or half andhra friend. sare na. these friends I mention are upper class tamils, and most of them are indifferent to ethnic barriers. there are two arguments that one can make in such a case. argument that can be made on principle will revolt against the idea of police killing people, when they aren't authorised to do it. the pragmatic argument takes into account the past excesses these kinda groups have done, not just in AP, but inside Chennai too. and unlike me, these guys and girls are remarkably connected to what's happening in Chennai. so I have to assume they know what they are talking about.
