Did I miss Hyd being no.1 for a brief while when Microsoft moved there? Hyd has always been more talk and less action.

 

 

pls don't combine tamilnadu and karnataka. karnataka is probably behind Telangana.

 

In other words, 'new world investment climate' is the euphemism for free money floating around the world, waiting for a place to invest. That, that kind of money hasn't visited Hyd says a lot about the city.

$10 billion in software exports per year is nothing to take lightly.. fyi...amazon, facebook , microsoft, google,wells fargo, chase, BOA are operating from leased offices and they are only begining to grow now bigtime in India. apart from the operations they are also started to setup billion dollar datacenters and there is nothing wrong to compete for the pie . It will go a long way, bring in people into the city from different parts of the world, improve the infrasture and indirectly benefit thousands in the cycle of events.

you want state govts to compete for the 'pie'? anyway my point was entirely different.

 

bangalore is awesome because of the startups coming out of it, inspite of the irritating smugness of the people from there. Other startup cities are Mumbai, Delhi.

 

Chennai is not a startup city, but still chennaiites don't actually have to go to Bangalore if they want to set up a startup. eg. Zoho, freshdesk, and a lot more.

it matters zilch, which company choses to set up its headquarters where. It only means that the state govt leaders (KCR, KTR) were as pliant as CBN was when Microsoft was invited.

 

you are talkng of 13k jobs, and I'm talking of big ideas. until those big ideas come from Hyd, Hyd brand is only about charminar and its biriyani. Not high tech.
