Ap Invites Sony, Ntt Data & Toshiba To Invest In State

Wooing Japanese companies, Andhra Pradesh has invited Sony, NTT Data and Toshiba to set up facilities in the state and offered them support for their ventures. 

A delegation headed by Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy is currently in Japan to participate in Japan IT Week and meet the IT/electronic multinational corporations in Tokyo to invite them for setting up their facilities in the new state, an official statement issued here said. 

The Minister yesterday addressed delegates at an exhibition on the initiatives of the government, while IT Secretary B Sreedhar made a presentation on the scenario and opportunities available in information technology and electronics sector in Andhra Pradesh, it said. 

Reddy and Sreedhar met top executives of Sony, NTT Data and Toshiba today. 

At Sony, after detailed presentation on electronics sector demand and the investment opportunities available, they invited the top management of the company to visit the state and told them: "Depending on the value proposition offered by the government, they are welcome to take a viable investment decision to set up their manufacturing facilities in consumer electronics and electronics components in the state." 

At NTT Data, Reddy "impressed upon" the top management to set up their operations in BPO and tele-communication services in Visakhapatnam, where skilled, talented and trained manpower is available, and offered all the support to them for this purpose, the statement said. 

In a meeting with top executives of Toshiba, the Minister requested them to visit Anantapur area for setting up of their manufacturing facility in consumer electronics/smart meters, it was stated.

 

Let's hope they accept our invitation.
