In majority of the cases, the wealth that is accumulated is unaccounted; however, there are some instances where the wealth is by inheritance. We take a look at some of the richest Indian politicians who have declared their assets. 

1. Jayadev Galla, TDP

Jayadev Galla is an MP in the current Lok Sabha from Guntur. He is the managing director of the Amara Raja Group. He contested from a TDP ticket and is very close to his brother-in-law, Telugu actor Mahesh Babu. He has net assets worth Rs. 683 Cr.

2. Jaya Bachchan, SP

Jaya Bachchan, the wife of Amitabh Bachchan, has declared assets worth 484 crores. She is an MP from Samajwadi Party and is frequently heard in the parliament on issues like gender equality and women empowerment.

3. Ravindra Kishore Sinha, BJP

Ravindra Kishore Sinha is an MP in the upper house of the parliament from BJP. He became the wealthiest Indian politician by declaring assets worth Rs. 800 Cr. He also handles one of the largest security companies in India with revenues above Rs. 3000 Cr.

4. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, INC

Abhishek Manu Singhvi is a member of the Indian National Congress and is a Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan. His father was a former high commissioner to UK. Abhishek Singhvi is said to have assets worth Rs. 226 Cr.

5. Takam Tagar, People’s Party

Takam Tagar is a politician from Arunachal Pradesh with net assets worth Rs. 209 Cr. He is an MP from Palin constituency.

6. Anand Singh, BJP

Anand Singh is reported to have assets to the tune of Rs. 150 Cr. He has been booked in several corruption cases in Karnataka and was recently in the news when CBI arrested him in a case involving irregularities in importing iron ore. 

7. Mahendra Prasad, JD(U)

Dr. Mahendra Prasad is an MP from Bihar with assets worth upwards of Rs. 683 Crore. He is nominated by JD (U) to the upper house of the parliament, Rajya Sabha.

8. Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, TRS

Konda Vishweshwar Reddy is an MP from Chevella in Andhra Pradesh. He has assets worth 528 Cr. He is the son of former chief justice of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. Konda is well-read and has worked as an adjunct faculty at New Jersey Institute of Technology.

9. Nama Nageswara Rao, TDP

Nama Nageswara Rao is the head of Madhucon Projects, an infrastructure company. He was the richest candidate in 2009 elections and won his seat with a margin of 124, 909 votes defeating Union Minister Renuka Choudhary. His assets account to Rs. 174 Cr. 

10. Gokaraju Ganga Raju, BJP

Raju is an MP from Narsapuram in Andhra Pradesh and has assets worth Rs. 288 Cr. He is also the vice-president of BCCI South Zone. He has also been very active in organisational work in the RSS and VHP.
