Legendary Director Bapu Name For Vijayawada's Historical Museum

The Andhra Pradesh government has honored the legendary artist and filmmaker Bapu by naming the Vijayawada's historical Victoria Museum after him. The government has also passed the GO in this regard and the replacement of the name will come into effect very soon. Incidentally, the legendary artist has been honored in the city where his artistic and literary career took its shape.

After a successful stint with his trademark style and satire in literature, journalism and advertising in several cities, Bapu made his silver screen debut with the iconic classic Sakshi. Since thenBapu directed several classics like Mutyala Muggu, Sampoorna Ramayanam, Manavuri Pandavulu, Pelli Pustakam and ended his career with Balakrishna starrer Sri Rama Rajyam. Bapu magically visualized Telugu culture onto the silver screen.

On the other hand, the Victoria Museum stands tall with its historic importance. It is the place where the National Flag, the Tricolor designed by Pingali Venkaiah was approved by Mahatma Gandhi. Fans and followers of the legend have expressed their happiness over government's gesture.
