He was 17 and he loved his mother (“one person I can give my life for”), and there he was alone, trying to make something of his life. Not the usual back story of a Test cricketer, but there you go.

As a matter even made her pregnant when she was Dk's wife... this hurts more than anything which was detailed about him...
