  • You are not required to take any further action after receiving a mismatch from Self Check but resolving a DHS mismatch now gives you the peace of mind that your employment eligibility records are in order. 
  • If you wish to resolve a DHS mismatch, you would need to call DHS. The guidance titled “Notice of Mismatch” provides a set of detailed steps on how to do so and it will be provided to you selected to follow up on your potential mismatch.

A "DHS TNC" case result may occur because the employee's

  • Name, A-number,I-94 number and/or foreign passport number were recorded  incorrectly in DHS records

  • Information was not updated in the employee's DHS records
  • Citizenship or immigration status changed
  • Record contains another type of error
  • Information was not entered correctly by the employer
