He is just following the standard indian foriegn policy. Only exception could be that BJP likes to work closely with US.. Where as congress leans towards Russia I think it doesnt matter who is in power, indian foriegn policy kind of remains the same

I guess thats the main reason why the govt is supporting afghanisthan , srilanka , mangolia , mauritius and nepal .... its a very much needed move in my opinion ..
